>> Frequently Asked Questions <<
QUESTION 1: "What type of information is covered?"
ANSWER: To be honest... you'll discover just about EVERYTHING you
need to know to become a more confident, more
effective, and more respected coach.
The certification program is broken down into
8 courses:
* Coaching Philosophy and Ethics
* Teaching and Communication
* Safety and Injury Prevention
* Athlete Growth and Development
* Physical Conditioning
* Skills and Tactics
* Program Administration
* Program Evaluation
Every course is set up as an "interactive learning
experience"... so you actually learn by doing.
You'll go through scenarios, face real coaching
challenges, then get feedback on how you performed.
I'm working on a "sneak preview" that'll give you
a better taste of the specifics... keep an eye
on your inbox for that later this week.
QUESTION 2: "Why should I get ACA certified?"
ANSWER: For starters... sports organizations
across the country are now requiring coaches
to receive training in the fundamentals of
coaching.
Even if your organization or state doesn't
require it, your certification will boost your
credibility, increase your confidence, and give
you a valuable, nationally recognized credential
that proves your commitment to your coaching role.
But what it really comes down to is knowledge.
Think about it.
If you were building a house, would you start out
with a hammer, a screwdriver, and a pile of
rotting 2x4's?
Or would you want a complete blueprint designed
by the country's top homebuilder... a step by step
manual describing every stage of the building
process... a crew of experienced carpenters,
handymen, plumbers, and electricians ... and a
truck full of the latest high-end equipment and
materials from Home Depot?
It's the same thing with coaching.
More knowledge + more tools = better results for you and your team.
Our ACA certification courses include all the "insider secrets" to coaching success... so you can win more games and have more FUN in your coaching role.
QUESTION 3: "How do I complete my certification?"
ANSWER: Okay, here's how it works.
On Tuesday morning, just before 12pm Pacific, I'll send you a special email with a subject line of "The Doors Are Open" or something like that.
When you arrive at the certification website, just follow these 3 steps:
First, simply enroll through our secure server. All your personal information will be kept 100% confidential and will not be shared with any unauthorized 3rd party.
You'll receive a unique login so you can access the course from the comfort of your own home, office, or anywhere you can get online.
Second, complete the online course material at your convenience. At the end of each course, you'll need to pass a short exam.
Third, once you have completed the requirements of your program, you will receive an official ACA certificate complete with your name and new credential. Simply print the certificate out as proof of your program completion.
And... BAM! You're done.
You can frame the certificate on your wall... attach it to your resume... or add it to your coaching binder. You can even set up a "shrine" with candles and weird music and make your colleagues worship it if you want (just don't let it catch fire... bad luck =)
QUESTION 4: "Why is enrollment currently closed?"
ANSWER: Please understand something... the ACA is not doing this to make money.
That's why you won't see any cheesy banner ads or annoying pop-ups on our website.
For us, it's all about delivering the highest quality coaching education to give our students a competitive "edge" and ensure today's athletes have a fun, positive experience in sport.
To do that, we prefer to keep our enrollment levels small and only accept a limited number of students each month. This allows us to focus on meeting the needs of each individual coach. When students graduate through the program, we periodically re-open our doors to take on additional students.
QUESTION 5: "Is the ACA recognized by any National Coaching Associations?"
ANSWER: You bet. The American Coaching Academy is a member of the National Council for the Accreditation of Coaching Education (NCACE ).
All ACA course material is based on the 2008 National Standards for Sports Coaches. Over 113 sport organizations, colleges, universities and national governing bodies have worked to develop these standards, which outline the scientific and practical competencies that administrators, athletes, parents, and the public should expect from you as a sport coach.
We've also gotten glowing endorsements from a "who's who" in the world of coaching education... these guys are like a Jedi Council of coaching, so we were totally thrilled (and blown away) to hear how much they loved the material.

QUESTION 6: "How long does the program take to complete?"
ANSWER: There are 8 total courses, and each one is designed to take approximately one hour to complete from start to finish... so a total of around 8 hours.
Many of our students work full time in non-coaching jobs, so they complete a couple courses each weekend and are done in less than a month.
Others are real "go-getters" and finish the entire program the same day they enroll.
You have 60 days to complete the material, and the entire program is done online... so it's totally flexible and up to you.
QUESTION 7: "Will I receive proof of my certification?"
ANSWER: Yes. After taking the online course you will be able to print out your completion certificate directly from your computer screen.
Your certificate will have your full name and date of completion. Click here to see a "spy photo" of the ACA certificate you can receive.
QUESTION 8: "This sounds pretty sweet. Will tuition be expensive?"
ANSWER: Expensive compared to what?
We're talking about a revolutionary program that instantly gives you loads of credibility and a killer credential you can use on your resume.
Getting a four year coaching degree at a college or university costs what... $25-30K a year? And course material is usually heavy on theory... and light on practical application.
Even a basic coaching certificate at those same schools typically runs in the $4000.00 range... and takes up to 12 months to complete.
And weekend conferences for certification certainly aren't cheap either. By the time you add in your clinic entry, transportation expenses, hotel, and food, and you're easily talking $700.00 or more.
(not to mention the time away from your family)
ACA certification won't cost you anywhere close to that. We're even offering several scholarships to reward coaches who take action immediately.
And... to make it accessible for ANY coach (even volunteer coaches who don't have a big budget) we're setting up an "EZ payment plan", so you can get started for under $70.
We're still working out the final details on the scholarships, so watch your email for more updates in the coming days...
